Magrock Secures Landmark Contract for New RBVE Manufacturing Facility in Kent

Magrock is proud to announce its appointment to deliver the new, manufacturing, warehousing, and training complex for Royal British Veterans Enterprise (RBVE) at its long-standing home in Aylesford, Kent.

The new facility will serve as the cornerstone of RBVE's next chapter, a state-of-the-art site built to support the organisation's long-term ambitions. It represents a major investment in RBVE's growth and operational capabilities, reinforcing its enduring commitment to supporting veterans and creating employment across the region.

RBVE's social enterprise already makes more than 250,000 road, rail and commercial signs every year for customers including Network Rail and National Highways. More than 70% of employees in its manufacturing businesses are veterans, disabled, or both. While the new factory will increase production, the real impact will be measured in the job opportunities it creates.

Strategically located adjacent to the M20, the flagship development will deliver a 68,000 sq ft purpose-built factory and warehousing facility, designed and constructed by Magrock. The scope of the project includes CAT A and CAT B fit out across the two-storey building and production spaces, alongside enabling, external and infrastructure works.

Alongside production, the building will include design-finishing spaces, skills areas, teaching and coaching rooms, a fulfilment zone, a sales showroom, a recycling space, and a canteen, lunch area and quiet room. The development will also include a new Training Academy, a dedicated space for learning, employability support and skills development. It will build on RBVE's existing work helping unemployed veterans gain qualifications, confidence and pathways into sustainable employment.

The project brings genuine complexity with multiple construction phases delivered alongside RBVE's live operations, and the remains of a former manor house under the site. The need to safeguard these artefacts means Magrock will hand dig in the surrounding area under a watching brief from the Canterbury Archaeological Trust.

Once complete, the new factory and Training Academy will provide RBVE with a modern, efficient and sustainable operational base, enabling the organisation to continue delivering its mission while enhancing productivity, capacity and future growth potential.

Phase 1 Practical Completion: New Build September 2027
