Our team comprises of reputable and practised professionals all of whom have bought into our vision, ambition and ethos which allows us to deliver excellence for our clients. At Magrock we recognise and develop talent and actively encourage professional development.

Our management team originates from senior industry positions within construction who have managed businesses with turnover in excess of £200m and staff numbers exceeding 150. This wealth of knowledge provides us with the necessary experience and tools to get the best out of individuals and to build the right team for each project.

Richard Brewer

Founder and Managing Director

Having started his career at Fitzpatrick as a Trainee Engineer, Richard soon climbed the ranks to Senior Project Manager, managing projects of up to £50m for 10 years before becoming a founding member of Readie Construction. After 8 years as Director and Shareholder at Readie, Richard founded Magrock in 2016 with a vision to be a contractor with a difference.

Richard has over 25 years of experience in the industry and his main aim has been to ensure his clients’ expectations are always exceeded allowing excellent relationships to develop. His knowledge of construction and straightforward approach has led to a high level of repeat business throughout his career.

As Managing Director, Richard has overall responsibility for company matters but is primarily focused on business development and growth. Richard leads the business, ensuring a high level of service is maintained in every aspect of the company.

Outside of work Richard can be found on the ski slopes whenever the opportunity arises, as well as spending time with his partner and children.

Kylie Boarer

Business Operations Director

Having worked alongside Richard for the past 20 years at both Fitzpatrick and Readie, Kylie joined Magrock at its inception. Kylie’s previous experience means she has extensive knowledge of the industry and is perfectly placed to manage the day to day running of the business and its growth.

Kylie is responsible for all financial aspects of the business including bonds, insurances and parent company guarantees. She works closely with all departments to constantly improve our systems and processes and guarantee a holistic approach across the business.

Away from the office Kylie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to see live music and the occasional spot of baking!

David Brewer

Construction Director

David joined in 2017 as an active shareholder in the Magrock business and has more than 15 years’ experience within the construction industry. Having spent his career at Volker Fitzpatrick and Readie Construction he has a wealth of experience in multi-unit schemes with values exceeding £20m across both Industrial and Commercial sectors.

David is responsible for project delivery where he oversees multiple projects up to a value of £30m. He works closely with the client team, to ensure that projects are managed and delivered to the Magrock high standards.

In his limited free time David enjoys spending time with his young family, skiing and playing badminton.

Bradley Harris

Construction Director

Bradley joined Magrock as Construction Director in 2021 to manage the operational side of the business alongside David. Having previously worked at Readie Construction, he spent 8 years developing his skill sets in the Industrial, Logistics and Commercial sectors.

Bradley shares Richard’s vision of exceeding client expectations on every project. His positive and dynamic attitude allows him to lead his teams and ensure that every project is completed to an exceptionally high quality, with a focus on delivering ahead of programme.

When not spending time with his family, Bradley enjoys a few rounds of golf, although not as often as he would like, and is an avid Tottenham Hotspur supporter.

Dean Pask

Pre-Construction Director

Dean has been with the business from inception. With over 15 years’ experience in the industry, he has overall responsibility for the Estimating Department.

A Quantity Surveyor at Fitzpatrick and Readie Construction, Dean brings a wealth of knowledge to his role and is always on hand to provide expert pre-construction advice to clients from a surveying and financial control point of view. His on-site experience enables him to have an alternative perspective on tenders that can offer a benefit to overall cost or project duration.

Dean has recently taken up a new hobby in the form of golf, and he likes to get out on the course when he can. When not working on his swinging, Dean can be found spending quality time with his family and friends.

Robert Surgenor

Commercial Director

A qualified Senior Surveyor, Robert joined Magrock in 2019, and due to his hard work and commitment was promoted to Commercial Director after successful delivery of some challenging schemes.

Robert is responsible for the Commercial aspects of all projects and leads the Surveying Department. He brings a wide range of knowledge having come from a background of high-end fit out projects. This, along with his proactive approach and focus on procurement, ensures that projects run smoothly and within budget.

Robert enjoys rugby in all forms and, when not spending time with his young family, will enjoy the game whether from the side-lines, his local or the comfort of his living room.

Geoff Cutts

Construction Director

Having joined Magrock in 2022 as Construction Director, Geoff is the newest member of the senior management team. Working alongside David and Bradley, he is committed to maintaining the exemplary standards customers have come to expect, whilst supporting the business growth.

With his experience in Commercial, Retail and Motor Retail, Residential, Student, Co-living and Retirement Living, Geoff will reinforce and enhance the company’s operational versatility while encouraging diversification.

Outside of work, Geoff has a keen interest in classic motocross and enjoys cycling and taking part in sportive events from time to time. He also really enjoys spending time with his family and dogs on walks in the countryside.

Becca Creighton

Head of People

Becca joined Magrock in 2023 with 8 years’ experience in developing HR support and training programmes for a leading utility infrastructure service provider.

Looking after our most valued asset – our people – Becca’s hands-on approach to personnel development provides essential support to staff so they are physically and mentally equipped to deliver their roles and duties with confidence.

Outside of work, Becca enjoys spending as much time as possible with friends and family, and is typically found hosting social events, walking, cooking, and travelling in Europe.

Tom Pace

Health & Safety Manager

As our Health & Safety Manager, Tom further develops the strong health and safety culture we have across the company. Tom has over a decade of experience within the lifting industry working on major projects nationwide.

With health and safety as our focus, Tom works with the Operations Team to improve the current health and safety systems and is on hand for general health and safety advice. Tom is responsible for all strategic guidance to the Directors on all health, safety, and environmental matters, as well as ensuring our Health & Safety accreditations are up to date.

Tom is recently married, loves his dog walks on the weekends and is a keen musician who has played guitar for over 25 years.

Michael Smercan

Project Support & Compliance Manager

Michael joined Magrock as a Project Support Coordinator in 2022 to assist with the Operations side of the business, working across numerous projects.

Michael quickly showed he shared Magrock’s vision and way of working, with his hunger for knowledge and determination to turn information into action. This has contributed to his most recent success, having been promoted within 6 months at Magrock into leading a team of Project Support Coordinators, alongside managing the businesses’ accreditations.

In his free time Michael enjoys spending quality time with his young family, playing for his local Sunday league football team and the odd spot of retro gaming.
