Responsibilities
We pride ourselves on setting and maintaining high standards for all aspects of our business, continually looking for new initiatives that create a positive impact on the world.
As well as ensuring the health and safety of our staff and subcontractors, we also believe in excellence in our approach to the quality of our builds, mitigating the environmental impact of each project and actively looking for ways to operate ever more sustainably and always with an eye on how we can enable a greener future.
Health & Safety
A proactive mindset towards health and safety is essential to ensure the protection of our employees, contractors and clients.
We understand the importance of health and safety, and we aim to deliver incident and injury free projects.
Our in-house Health & Safety Manager takes a hands-on approach by visiting all projects, carrying out internal audits, weekly inspections, training and development of employees and regularly communicating with our workforce.
We implement daily, weekly and monthly meetings encouraging our employees and contractors to improve the business.
We believe in building a positive health and safety culture within our teams and workforces, ensuring a productive and safe environment for all to be in and around.
Quality
At Magrock we pride ourselves on high standards being set for our business. We have a positive attitude towards all aspects of quality and believe this is one of the main reasons we get repeat business from clients and sets us apart from our competitors.
Our workmanship, hands-on approach and can-do attitude together with our attention to detail, are the backbone of how we approach a project. We carefully choose our supply chain and spend time building these relationships to ensure their values align with ours. The comprehensive audits, monitoring and control processes we have in place for every project ensures we set the highest standard, exceeding clients' expectations.
We constantly challenge ourselves and review to develop our standard processes and practices which means we learn as we grow. We stay up to date with changes in legislation and industry guidance in order to offer the best services, solutions and value engineering to our clients.
Environment
BREEAM ratings
Our experience with all levels of BREEAM-rated projects, along with the processes and procedures we have in place, means our central resource team are well-versed with all aspects of BREEAM and we can assist with the process from project inception to completion, ensuring all standards are met without delay.
The relationship between our project team and supply chain enables us to achieve the very best BREEAM result in an effective and commercially viable way.
Planet Mark
Planet Mark is a sustainability certification we have attained which recognises continuous improvement, encourages action and builds an empowered community of like-minded individuals who make a world of difference. We believe we must all work together to embrace sustainability.
It also enables organisations and their people to positively transform society, the environment and the economy through measurement of their carbon and social data, using a unique three-step process.
Smart Waste
At Magrock we are committed to maintaining a robust and compliant Environmental policy. We use Smartwaste software to accurately record and monitor waste data across all our projects. Utilising Smartwaste allows us to ensure we can compare company performance against industry benchmarks. This also allows us to set targets at both project and company level to reduce the environmental impact of waste across the board.
A combination of the above environmental initiatives and considerations gives us the very best in excellence.
Sustainability
Through our certifications, we can help our clients to strengthen their Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), and set credible net zero carbon targets that align with the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)’s Net-Zero Corporate Standard.
Our Sustainable Procurement Policy prioritises the use of resource-efficient products and where feasible we seek to procure locally, providing opportunity for small and medium-sized businesses.
As many of our projects include demolition and refurbishment works, recycling of waste materials is key, and targets for this are set at the outset of each project and continuously monitored.
We are committed to providing practical sustainable construction initiatives and support our clients with their own sustainable construction goals including reductions in embodied carbon and achieving Net Zero Carbon in operation.
Design
We employ a dedicated Design Department, enabling every project to complete a coordinated, detailed design. The Design Managers are involved as soon as a contract is awarded and are an additional service to assist Project Managers throughout the project. There is an emphasis on Design Team meetings and a focus on sub-contractor feedback.
The department oversees the entire design process, utilising technical expertise to ensure all elements of the build process are considered and coordinated between the architect, structural engineer, specialist subcontractors and the Magrock operational team on site.
Magrock also operates a catalogue of Standard Details. This ensures continuity of design across all projects, leading to a definitive Magrock final product, and setting us apart from our competition.
